Things I Miss Doing Now That I Am Broke

Hello all,

I am currently waiting on yet another student loan check to arrive and I have since become completely broke.  Now, there is one thing I miss most of all now that I am broke.  One thing that I can't wait to do again.  That thing is this:

Buying stuff.

Words That Suck

Dear friends,

There are some words that should not exist.  Here are a few of the ones that I cannot stand:

Ginormous- a combination of the synonyms "gigantic" and "enormous".
For example, "That dump I took was ginormous".

Guesstimate- a combination of the synonyms "guess" and "estimate".
For example, "My guesstimate for how many jelly beans were in the jar was 3,487.  There were six jelly beans in the jar.  I am really bad at this."

Conversate- a useless word used in place of "converse".  Back formed from the word "conversation".
For example, "The problem with our relationship is we don't conversate."

Tooken- a word used by by people who don't know when to use "took" or "taken".
For example, "The cat burglar had tooken the bait."

Feels- a word used as a synonym for "emotional content" or "emotions".
For example, "That movie had too many feels and not enough action."

Mouthfeel- a word used by gourmands and hipsters to explain the texture a food or beverage has when it is inside your mouth.
For example, "Vodka has a distinct mouthfeel in comparison to other liquors."

And yes, I know that the English language is an ever-evolving and "living" language and should be treated as such.  This doesn't mean that I have to like the way it is evolving.  I guess this grumpish man is off to go lunting.

My Monthly(ish) Comic Pull List

Here are the comics that I am reading on a monthly (-ish) basis for any one who cares.

All New X-Men
X-men Legacy
Uncanny X-Men
Cable and X-Force (I'm kind of embarrassed by this one but it's good)
Hawkeye
Batman (I pick this up sporadically actually)
X-Factor (I actually don't buy this one...but I read it all the time)
Lenore (I get this one when it comes out...whenever that may be)
Bedlam
Invincible (This one got away from me for awhile...but I've been picking it up pretty regularly for the last 6 months or so).

As you can see MARVEL comics makes up the majority of the comics I read.  This hasn't always been the case.

This blog has kind of sat dormant for quite some time.  Rob and I are still working on comics but real life (jobs, graduate school, bills, etc) have hampered our output.  As a result this blog has become dormant.

However, I think I am going to "fix" that by using this a bit more like my personal blog and include reviews and such about music, movies, tv shows, comics, books, and anything else I feel like writing about (so there is likely to be some science shit in there as well).  I know that isn't the original purpose of this blog.  Don't worry, the original purpose is still there and is still the main reason this exists.

I'm just going to try and entertain people in the interim.  You know, like a bad opening comedian.
